About registered suppliersCompliance FAQ
What makes a number plate road legal?
A road-legal plate must meet BS AU 145e, use the mandatory Charles Wright font with correct character size and spacing, show solid black characters on a reflective white front or yellow rear, and carry the supplier name, postcode and standard mark. See our road-legal plates page for the detail.
What documents do I need to order?
You need proof of identity and proof of entitlement to the registration, such as a V5C, V5C/2 or new keeper slip. Full details are on the documents required page.
Can I use show plates on the road?
No. Show plates are for off-road, show and display use only and are not road legal. Read more on the show plates page before buying.
Are you a registered number plate supplier?
We follow registered number plate supplier requirements and verify identity and entitlement before producing road-legal plates. Learn more on the registered supplier page.
