This policy explains how ASTARNUMBERPLATES LIMITED (Company No. 16624540) handles your personal data when you order from us or get in touch.

What we collect

We collect the information needed to take and fulfil your order, including:

• Contact and order details, such as your name, email address, delivery address and the details of your order
• For road-legal orders, proof of identity and proof of entitlement documents, as required to make road-legal plates

How we use it

We use your information to communicate with you about your order, to verify your entitlement to a registration where required, and to produce and deliver your plates. We may also use it to respond to your enquiries and to meet our legal obligations.

Lawful basis

We rely on the lawful bases that apply under UK data protection law. For most order information this is performance of a contract with you. For verifying identity and entitlement on road-legal orders, we also rely on compliance with a legal obligation.

Document handling & retention

Identity and entitlement documents are handled carefully and stored securely. We keep personal data and documents only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including to fulfil your order and to meet our legal and record-keeping obligations, after which they are deleted or otherwise disposed of securely.

Cookies & analytics

Some cookies and similar storage are essential: they carry your plate build through to checkout, keep your basket to one order at a time and let the document upload work. These are always on, because the site cannot function without them.

Everything else is optional and off until you say otherwise. With your permission we use:

• Google Analytics (GA4), loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand which pages and builder options are used and where people leave the order process.
• Google Ads measurement, to see which adverts lead to an order.

We use Google Consent Mode v2. Until you choose, analytics and advertising storage are set to denied, and we record your choice in this browser only. You can change or withdraw it at any time — open Cookie settings, which also sits in the footer of every page; withdrawing consent does not affect anything measured before you did so.

We have deliberately built the tracking so that Google never receives your registration, name, email address, phone number, delivery address or postcode, anything about your uploaded documents, your Stripe payment session, or the contents of any form field. Where a page address contains one of those values — a registration in a builder link, or a payment session on the order confirmation page — analytics is given a stripped copy of the address with those parameters removed. What Google does receive is the pages viewed, the plate options chosen (style, size, quantity), order values in pounds, and our own ANP- order reference so an order is not counted twice.

Google acts as our processor for analytics and may process data outside the UK under the safeguards in its own terms. Google Analytics data is retained for the period set on our GA4 property, after which Google deletes it; your consent record is kept in your browser and is cleared if you clear site data. Sharing

We share personal data only where needed to fulfil your order, for example with delivery providers, or where we are required to do so to comply with our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have rights over your personal data, including the right to access the data we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, and to ask us to delete it, in each case subject to legal limits and any obligations we must meet.
