Can I use my private reg on a show plate?

A show plate is not road legal, regardless of which registration is on it, because of how it is styled. What a show plate is for

Show plates are styled for looks — they may use custom fonts, spacing, colours or finishes that a road plate cannot. Because they break the road-legal rules on purpose, they must stay off public roads. Typical legitimate uses include:
