These terms apply when you order number plates from us. Please read them alongside our privacy, returns and delivery information.
About us
These plates are supplied by ASTARNUMBERPLATES LIMITED, a company registered in England & Wales under Company No. 16624540, trading as A* Number Plates through the website astarnumberplates.uk. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to ASTARNUMBERPLATES LIMITED.
Ordering & accuracy
When you place an order, you are responsible for entering the correct registration and spelling and for choosing the correct style, size and options. Plates are personalised and made to order, so please check your details carefully before completing your order. We produce plates based on the details you submit, and a plate made exactly as ordered is not considered faulty if the information provided was incorrect.
Road-legal orders & documents
For road-legal plates, UK rules require us to confirm your identity and your entitlement to the registration before we make the plate. You will need to provide acceptable proof of identity and proof of entitlement. Production of road-legal plates begins only after these documents have been checked and approved. See documents required for more detail.
Show plates are intended for off-road use only, such as exhibitions and display, and are not road legal. If you order show plates, you are responsible for using them lawfully and not displaying them on a vehicle used on public roads. See show plates for more information.
Pricing
Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP). We may change our prices from time to time, but the price that applies to your order is the price shown at the time you place it. Please check your order before confirming.
Delivery
We offer free UK delivery on plate orders. Plates are made to order, and dispatch is subject to payment being completed and — for road-legal plates — approval of the required documents. Current dispatch timings and full details are on our delivery & dispatch page.
Returns
Because plates are personalised and made to order, they are generally exempt from the standard 14-day cancellation right, except where an item is faulty or not as described — in which case we will put it right. The full procedure is on our returns & refunds page.
Liability
We take care to provide quality plates and accurate information. Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer or any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses arising from incorrect details supplied with your order, or from any unlawful use of plates (including using show plates on a public road).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
