Number plate delivery & dispatch times (UK)
Every plate is made to order, and UK delivery is free on plate orders. Here is how dispatch works and what can affect how quickly your plates reach you.
How delivery works
Number plates are not held on a shelf — each one is manufactured to order for your specific registration, finish and size. That means the timeline has two parts: the time to make your plates, and the time for the courier to deliver them once they are dispatched. UK delivery is free on all plate orders.
Made to order. Because your plates are produced for you, dispatch happens once your order is confirmed and any required documents have been approved. Orders placed before 11am may be dispatched the same day, subject to production capacity, payment completion and document approval where required; after 11am, dispatch is normally the following working day.
What affects the timing
Most orders move through quickly, but a few things can change the timeline:
- Document checks — road-legal plates require proof of identity and entitlement, and approval has to happen before we make them.
- The finish you choose — premium raised and gel plates can take a little longer to produce than standard 2D.
- When you order — the same-day cutoff is 11am. Orders placed after 11am, at weekends or around bank holidays are normally processed the next working day.
- Courier delivery times once your parcel has left us.

Show plates for off-road and display use do not require the same checks, so they typically move straight to production.
